At Michael Fox Fine Art we specialise in private sales, professional valuation services, and art consultancy. We offer three decades of experience in the industry with expertise in the Australian, Aboriginal, and international art market. This experience enables us to provide the support required by both private and corporate clients.
Michael Fox is the Principal of Michael Fox Arts Accountant & Valuer and the Director of Fox Galleries. As the only known registered tax agent and fine art valuer in the country, Michael Fox occupies a unique sector of the market. He is a certified accountant, fine art valuer and art collector. He holds a Master of Tax from the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. Fox is a member of the Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants.
Our position in the market sees us handle exceptional artworks routinely. We have assisted clients with artworks by international icons such as Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama and Keith Haring alongside some of Australia’s most outstanding artists such as Emily Kame Kngwarreye, John Olsen, Sidney Nolan, Howard Arkley, John Brack, Margaret Olley and Jeffrey Smart.
A private sale affords vendors more autonomy and security during a sale. We provide valuation reports for clients on a regular basis, assisting them with matters relating to insurance, superannuation, and estate division amongst others. The art market can be daunting at times, especially those introduced for the first time. Our consultancy services create a tailored experience where clients are participatory in a more seamless journey.
